How to make your computer welcome you during startup?

  1. Open notepad
  2. copy & paste the code given below

speaks="Welcome back, your_username"
Set speech=CreateObject("sapi.spvoice")
speech.Speak speaks
  1. Replace your_username with the your name
  2. Now save the file as “vbs” or “*.vbs
  3. Now you have to copy this saved file to:

For windows XP:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup 

For windows vista, windows 7 and windows 8:

C:\Users\ {User-Name}\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

If your Operating system is installed in different drive then write that drive in place of ‘C:’

Usually in windows “app data” folder is hidden, so you have to select “show hidden folders” from options to locate it.

A small note:

how to make your computer to say your name during startBefore you reboot your system, you should make a minor change in the sound scheme (which is recommended), you can continue without this step but voice so generated during startup may be not that clear.

In order to make changes in sound scheme:

  1. open control panel
  2. Then click on switch to classic view
  3. Now click on sounds & audio device
  4. Open sound tab
  5. In sound scheme option select no sound
  6. It is good to keep your previous sound scheme, so select yes!
  7. Then click OK
